Have you ever wondered where the name Emerald Swift came from?
It wasn’t created in a corporate marketing room. It was born from a mix of childhood memories, a deep connection to nature, and the rich heritage passed down to me by the most influential woman in my life: my grandmother.
1. Threaded with History: What My Grandmother Taught Me
I was largely raised by my grandmother, a remarkable woman born in 1906. Having lived through two World Wars and countless historical shifts, she understood the true value of things. To her, no scrap of fabric was too small, no ball of wool useless, and every single button carried a story.
She was the one who taught me how to sew, knit, and crochet. Sitting beside her, learning to read sewing patterns and construct my own garments, I fell in love with the sheer satisfaction of creating something with my own two hands.
Today, I still use some of her original tools and hold her memory close every time I sit at my workstation. She passed down not just techniques, but a profound respect for materials and craftsmanship.
2. Books, Mountains, and the Need for Nature
My creativity has always been fueled by endless curiosity. Books are my constant companions, and traveling refreshes my mind — but my true home is outdoors. I feel most grounded among the mountains and deep inside the forest.
This love for nature is why I work almost exclusively with natural materials. Linen keeps you cool in the scorching heat; wool protects you from the biting cold. Natural fibers aren't just an eco-friendly choice for a more sustainable life — they are the best companions for real, everyday living.
3. So, Why "Emerald Swift"?
When I decided to turn my lifelong passion into my full-time creative path, I wanted a name that tied my roots, my love for nature, and my personal childhood memories together:
- Emerald: This comes from the Emerald Swift lizard. I actually used to keep these tiny, brilliant creatures at home and fell completely in love with them — their shimmering green scales and resilient nature are a constant reminder of nature's quiet wonders.
- Swift: The common swift has been my favorite bird since I was a child. Whenever I hear their unmistakable calls ringing out from high up in the sky, I immediately stop, look up in sheer wonder, and admire their effortless flight. To me, the swift represents ultimate freedom, agility, and the beauty of rising high on a new creative path.
For me, Emerald & Swift is also a philosophy of creation Swift & Mindful — lightness, rhythm, and agility alongside deep colors, tradition, and durability. This is my space to blend traditional roots with a modern, thoughtful approach to creation.
